Pre:
I had planned to spend about 30 minutes for set up, about 15 for levels and balance, 55for recording, and 20 for take down. I was going to have the Rode NT4 as a room mic in front of the xylo and then the AKG C451s as close mikes on [...]
Pre-Recording:
We have the studio from 10-1, so about 20-30 minutes for setup, about 20 minutes for levels, 1 and half hours for recording guitar, bass, voice, and harmonica. About 30 minutes for retakes/random extras and 20 minute take down.
I put one AKG C451 pointed just below the sound hole [...]
inbox:bus
I sent my vocals and piano to a bus to use a common reverb and do some eq to bring out more lows. It saved alot of memory and really opened up the bottom end. It was fairly simple to figure out.
outbox: removed my account, will find or redo soon

9:30-10:00 Set-UP
10:00-10:15 Levels
10:15-11:15 Recording

I attempted to use sketch and failed, so here is my very amateur paint sketch.
The new elements were recording a woowind (saxophone), recording a piano, Live studio [...]
I basically equed almost everything, trying to bring out warmth while still making sure everything still had its own place in the mix and punchyness. I also compressed quite a few of the instruments for mainly dynamic control. Some gates were used for the various kit instruments trying to get more isolation. [...]
For this I tried to limit the compression that I used, putting only on the vocals, lead guitar, bass, kick, and snare. Each mainly used the presets with a little bit of tweaking as necessary. This basically was just giving the song a few tweaks here and there to make it shine as [...]
For this mix I tried to let each track reside in it’s own frequency with mainly boosting. I mainly focused on the kick, base and snare while still slightly eqing the higher ends. I really tried to get rid of the sharpness of the first 3 mentioned, especially fleshing out the snare. In addition the [...]
In this mix I panned everything but the drums. I tried to only slightly pan everything and even distribute what I panned left and right. I put the rhythm and bass guitars to the left and the vocals, lead, and piano to the right. My only harder panning was the intro guitar in [...]
This style I started with the lead vocals and somewhat the lead guitar. I then balanced the rest around these but kept them highlighted. This created a nice mix, but was slightly lacking in bass and drums
This I started with the bass guitar and slightly the kick drum. After I [...]
