Disco / Quincy Jones and MJ
Disco – The Producer’s Genre
Evolved from Soul, Funk, R&B, and Motown.
KC & The Sunshine Band – That’s The Way I Like It
Called the “Producer’s Genre” due to the large amounts of control that the producers had in the creation of the songs.
Disco was the first type of music that wasn’t created for performance, but instead to be played in dance halls. The closest thing to a performer in these environments was the DJ.
The 70′s Also Coincided with the commercialization of the synthesizer, and 24 track audio.
Listen for these Disco elements in Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love”
What makes this song so Hypnotizing? How do you think the song came together?
